You can choose a photo to set as your Gmail picture. This image shows up when someone sees your name in their email inbox or chat list.


On Computer

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. In the top right, click Settings Settingsand then Settings.
  3. Scroll down to “My picture,” click About me.
  4. Click your profile picture.
  5. Pick a photo.
  6. At the top right, click Done.


I can't change my picture

If you have an account through work or school, change your picture by following the steps below.

  1. On your computer, open Gmail.
  2. In the top right, click Settings Settingsand thenSettings.
  3. In the "My Picture" section, click Change picture.
  4. Select or upload a new picture.
  5. Select the portion of the photo you want to show.
  6. Click Apply changes.

Note: If you're still unable to change your picture, contact your administrator.


Android


  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app Gmail.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Google Account
  4. On your Google Account page, tap “Personal info.”
  5. Under “Profile,” tap your current profile picture, tap and then Set Profile Photo.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to choose or take a photo.


iPhone & iPad


  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app Gmail. If you don't have the Gmail app, download it.
  2. On the left, tap Menu Menuand then Settings.
  3. Choose which account's profile picture you want to change.
  4. Tap Manage your Google Account.
  5. On your Google Account page, tap Personal info.
  6. Under “Profile,” tap your current profile pictureand then Set profile photo.
  7. Follow the on-screen prompts to set profile photo.

Note: To change your picture from your inbox, start by tapping your current account picture in the top right and then pick up from step 4 above.
